Default Civic: Leaky trunk

Has anyone's trunk ever leaked? Every time it rains, the trunk gets extremely wet and bottom (by the spar tire) even fills up with water! I see no evidence that the black rubber is cracked anywhere. I'm not sure where the water is coming from! Has anyone experienced this greatly annoying issue??? And, how do we fix it?! THANKS!

my 97 coupe has a bit of a trunk leak somewhere. i hear the hatches are worse.

i'd say put something just inside the seal (something as simple as a bunch of napkins) so that if it were to leak at that point, you'd see that the napkins were all wet. idk get creative. set something up so you can identify where the leak is

if you have a sunroof you have two drainage lines for it that run into the trunk next to each wheel well
these lines tend to get clogged or pop out and then leak into the trunk

if it isnt those then check the tail lights
the seal around them is prone to leaking, also if the lense is cracked it will leak as well (such is the case with mine)

if those dont solve it then do this
pull out everything form the trunk, spare tire, carpet, etc...
dust all surfaces with chalk or flour or some other light powder
either wash the car or drive it in the rain or do whatever you can to get it to leak
the powder will show the path of the water as it leaks

good luck

seconded on the tail lamps. Thats where all Honda's usually leak. I would also check the drain on the tubes draining the sunroof if you have one.

nice idea with the powder ^^

trunk leaks can be very annoying but there is an easy solution. pull back some of the interior and grab a flashlight. Then have a buddy with a hose spray down the trunk. You should be able to find it that way. I do this all the time at the body shop i work at.
