re-installing rocker arm assembly/camshaft
Hi,
When you reinstall the camshaft and then the rocker arm assembly, (after replacing the head gasket) on the d16y8 vtec engine, is there anything I need to pay attention to?
The reason I ask is when I removed the rocker arm assembly from the camshaft, some components on the rocker arm assembly moved inevitably despite the fact that I tried very hard to keep things where ever they are...(one of the 'lost motion' slid out during the removal process)
The shop manual pretty much says 'reinstall in the reverse order' but does not give specifics...Any marks to align to, etc? The rocker arm assembly was removed as a whole with the 10 holder bolts still attached ...I just separated it from the camshaft.
The No. 1 cylinder was set to TDC before I started doing this.
Thanks

You should be fine just make sure your tdc mark on the crank are on and the up mark and the 2 lines cam sprocket are level with the valve cover gasket aria. When you tork the head use the 2 step proses and pattern in the book.
If you took of your distributer you need to reset base timing.
