I've been told you do not need to take off the rear bumper. Just jacking it up will be sufficeint...

On a side note, the 96-98 rear lip looks way more aggressive than the 99-00 lip.... Can't wait to get mine...

I just put my '98 rear lip on (I posted pics on another thread) last sunday. You need to take the entire bumper off. Its really easy to do though...don't let that fact scare you off. If you can follow directions, you can do the whole job in less than 2 hours.

i installed my rear lip without taking my bumper off, it'd be alot easier if you had an extra set of hands tho!

will the 96-98 rear lip fit the 00 coupe? also the 00 coupe has the little exhaust hole in the bumper; isn't that of concern?

my guess probably not cuz the front has a different curve
and the rear goes from the bottom portion have a little bump and sticking tin, to going more out
im sure with time, and enuff bolts everything can fit but i would jsut get thet years that they were made for

I can tell you from personal experience....there is NO WAY in hell that you can properly install a '96-'98 OEM rear lip without taking the bumper off. If you want to do it half a$$ed, then maybe...but if you do it the right way, you have to take the bumper off. The '99-'00 one is about 5000x easier, and you do not have to remove the bumper to do it....it installs the same way that a '96-'98 Front lip does with clip nuts and bolts. Aftermarket lips may be a totally different story, and I can't attest to this b/c I went with the OEM route. I hope this clears up any confusion.
