Default Muffler Tip Question

Hey guys,

Ok, say Im trying to weld a muffler onto a stock exhaust. But the muffler tip is so much larger, will it fit under my bumper? Or will it keep hitting it if I driver over a bump or something? Im guessing the muffler is gonna be bought off of ebay, and will have a 2.5 inch tip. This is actually for my roommates Civic, but I'm helping him out as much as I can, so can you guys help me?

if its a universal axle back, you can just bend the pipe slightly downward to allow yourself any extra clearance you may need.

Actually you might not need to worry so much from the banging on the bumper as the melting of the bumper. The exhaust tip if it's close enough to the bumper will screw up the plastic and the paint.

yeah i found that out, my muffler tip melted a very small piece off my bumper at first (it was the black plastic part so it wasn't that bad) but i turned the tail pipe the other way so now its all good in the hood, well back rather.

If it's a universal muffler you will have to add hangers.

Hangers? Do most shops have those? Like Midas/Mieneke?
