Si rear sway or GSR?
Just need some advice on what to go with for a rear sway bar.
CAR:
98 Civic Ex.
Setup:
Pro kit
AGX shocks
Neuspeed F. and R. lower tie bar.
What size is the si rear sway? Gsr sway?
Ive been told the springs are fairly soft and shouldn't go to thick because I can risk tearing it out. Which would be the better choice with this setup with a stock EX front sway bar?
thank you.

I would love to go with a type R rear sway but I think the thickness might be overkill for the rest of the suspension.

i think the stock rear Si bar is 13mm. compare that to the 22mm of the type r bar.

***edit**** In checking on their website, now Honda say the Si rear sway bar is 15mm on a '99 and 13mm on a '00.....thank God I got a '99 bar
I had a suspension tech rear sway bar when i had my 98ex it was 19mm i believe. It made a big dif i took it off before i traded it in and felt how sloppy it was with out it and i had no other suspension work besides that

Is it true you have to lube the bar every once in a while?

I am still only going to be running with the stock front sway bar that comes with the EX. SAy if I were to set the shocks on the lowest setting... is their any chance of messing anything up?Where can I get a type R rear sway for a decent price on the web? I've heard they are a bit hard to come by.
Here is my opinion...
The type R sway bar is not overkill, it will go very nicely with your setup. You will feel more of a difference with the type r sway bar.
However, if your choices are between the gsr and the Si sway bar, I would get the Si sway bar for the following reasons.
Si: 13mm sway bar. Since you already have the lower control with the necessary hole to attach the sway bar, you will only need the sway bar, endlinks, brackets, 13mm bushing, 13mm bushing holder, 8 bolts and 8 nuts. Price: ~$160 brand new from Honda Automotive Parts
GSR: 14mm sway bar, You will need to get the GSR lower control arm, to attach it(yours won't work, Trust me) you will also need the sway bar, endlinks, brackets, bolts, nuts, bushings, bushings holders. Price: more than the Si setup, cause you will need to get the GSR lower control arms.
If you want a Type R: 22mm sway bar. You may or may not need the GSR lower control arms.(depends on which Type R sway bar you get. There are 2 different kinds), Beaks kit(reinforcement kit so you won't rip the subframe), endlinks, NO brackets, 22mm bushings, bushing holders, bolts and nuts. Price: More than the gsr setup cause you need to buy the Beaks kit. There is a complete kit you can buy at
Beaks Products It has everything you need except for the endlinks.
I also have a set for sale too if you are interested. In fact, I have the entire rear GSR sway bar setup if you want it. It comes COMPLETE with EVERYTHING you need. Price: 150
Hope this helps
