oo rod bearing

Default oo rod bearing

Ok well about a month ago i had a bad knocking sounds on the fourth cylinder n when i took it all a part it was the rod bearing was all smushed up so i replaced all of them might as well since i had them out but then when i went to go drive it for about 10 min my car had problems turing back on n had to tow it hom just now i checked the bearing again it was all smushed up again? could it be the crank?

you need to have the crank polished and gauge the bushings before installing.

The crank needs to be replaced. And you can't just put in bearings and call it good...you have to measure clearances. You have made a very expensive mistake.

you should get a new crank, if you weld and regrind honda cranks they don't last very long. And remeber that honda berrings are color coded and each color bering has a diff tolerance. When you rebuild the engine with a new crankshaft, do a Complete teardown and wash every part in a parts washer. Since you have rod knock, there are pieces of metal in every knook and cranny of the engine and moving parts. If you don't have the ability, tools or time to do this, go buy an engine from attarco or a place that sells motors. Oh and get a plasti-guage they're like 2bucks
