Default Power Steering Rack replacement

Just wondering if there was anything in particular I should look out for when getting a new power steering rack for a 93 civic coupe?

I was looking at the Cardone remanufactured rack at Kragen which I think is a reasonable price. Is there anything wrong with them?

My other options were junkyard (which I'd rather not do) or the Beck/Arnley rack from Autozone (also remanufactured).

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

any reman should be alright, just purchase the one that has the best warranty to cost ratio.

That's what I figured. I just thought that there might be a certain brand that I should steer clear from, or if there was a particular brand that others might have liked through experience.

I was talking to someone about a rebuild. I got one from a 94 GSR for my Eg6. I was told putting it back in once rebuilt is tricky. There's a pattern to pouring and turning and not having the car on before you yada yada.....?!?

I wish I could do the same. Unfortunately, I do not have the time, tools or the know-how on rebuilding the rack. I guess I could try, but I don't have that kind of luxury at this time. h:

Interesting. Who would you buy yours from, and how much would you spend? I should have been more clear on the other post. What's the protocol for pouring the power steering fluid in when you re-install it. Since mine is fucked, I'm pulling it along with the motor when I get the car painted. Can you burn out the motor if you pour it in in a certain sequence?

ibsuspensionnoob.

not that I am aware of. When we do racks at work we toss the fuckers back in, conect all the lines flip a bottle of p/s fluid upside down in the resevoir and start the car....then turn the wheel left to right a shit ton of times till all the air is out :dunno:
