<--- Curious too. What's that, like keeping track of the location of your plugs?

I have. They have those gap tools (don't know the proper name) at Autozone for about a buck.

Indexing is not gapping.

Indexing is pointing your spark plug in a certain direction to maximize horsepower. In many applications, this involves pointing your spark plug at your intake valves, but some apps make more hp with the plug facing the other way.

Good for about 1% horsepower gains on a built motor if you're lucky.
