Default Removing 96 Grill??

In order to remove the front grill on a 96 civic coupe all you have to do is take the bumper off and it would come out??? If not can someone explain how to do??? I know this is a pretty stupid and probally easy question but i just dont want to mess something up?? Thanks

I have a '95, but I'm pretty sure you have to take the bumper off to get it out. It's really easy to get the bumper off. Pop it off and check out how it all works.. it can't hurt.

Remove your bumper. There are 4 philips head screws underneath holding the upper grill to the bumper. Then gut that sh1t and put some mesh in there.

so you can just straight up take the grey part with the emblem out? I wasn't aware of that. That saves hella money on a type r grill if that's the case. inform me please.

I used a jig saw, then sanded down the ruff edges with sand paper. If you don't have a jig saw, use a hack saw or something similar and sand the edges smooth. The mesh is easy. Just trace the pattern with the grill and cut it out.
Heres a closer pic.

6genCivic please give me the link to how you put on the 99 lip on your 98. If you could please add MOREEEEE pictures of the process or at least if all that you can do is the current pictures then make more close up shots of what you have now. thanks
