Default Tire/Muffler questions

Hey - are 205/40 16's pretty thin, or should I look for something thinner? I want somethign decently high profile, but nothing crazy.

And I believe the stock size of the inlet pipe on Civics is 2.5inches...so if I just get a muffler that has that size, it should fit right? And I take it I just take it to a muffler shop and they'll put it on for me?

I have 16's, and I think 205/45/16 looks perfect. I had 50 series on it before, but they were too big, and IMHO, 40's would look to low-pro. Only get 40's if you're already dropped.

if you have a civic with 2.5 piping, then you must have some production turbo civic i never heard of or it must be a civic type r. usually they are 1 + inches

he must've gotten custom piping in already or something

if you're getting a new muffler, get it welded on. So take it to the shop.

I have 205/40/16's on my car and even though its the "correct" plus sizing for the 5th gen's, it is WAY too easy to curb your wheels. I would say get 205/45/16's instead.

how are 205/40/16s the correct size...i put them up to my steelies and they are much smaller...45s should be correct. 40 series are for 17s on the 5th gens.

5th gen DX's come 175/70/13. So the correct plus sizing 3 would be 205/40/16, but I wouldnt recommend it.
