Default need help with brakes

ok..heres the problem, last night went to put new slotted rotors and pads with my best friend on his 00 EX civic, everything was going great till we went to put the caliper back on with the pads in...and it wouldnt go on, cause the pads are to thick. so we though well maybe they sent the wrong pads and went to autozone and got a set of Performance Frictions Carbon Metallic pads...same result...pads are to thick...the rotor is the same thickness as the old rotor, and i dont think the caliper shrunk.we put everthing back together as it came off..so what maybe causing this to not fit...any help would be great

yeah...piston is fully pushed back...called a local speed shop in town as well as the Stillen who he got the parts from, and apparently there are 2 pad thicknesses avail for the 00-01 civic...and 18mm and the 16mm. he got the 18mm and needs the 16mm..so he has to send them back...lol..what a pain in the arse...
