I have 2 12inch W3D2's I have them wired up to a JBL600.1
it absloutely hammers when i want it to and sounds great all the time. I entered it in a sound off and i hit 143.3 without maxing it out. The JBL amps is a good choice, they are a class D amp so they are very efficient, not drawing too much power.
The amps are very reliable, me and my friends all have them, among us we have 3 JBL600.1 and 2 JBL180.2 and none of us have had any problems

a pair of 12w3 will not need a 1000 watt amp. they are only rated at 250watts each.

at whatever OHM they are, for a budget amp, get the JBL 600.1.

they are solid amps that are cheap as hell and pounds.

if you got more money to spend you can always get a JL 500 or a PPI 2600. those are the only 2 other amps ive heard a pair of W3s with. and all of them pound.

im not a huge fan of JL.. their stuff is so/so.. minus the w7.. the reason your 500.1 didnt make ur lights dim is cuz its only 500 watts.. i ran my old lanzar 1200D @ 3 ohms (650-700watts rms) and i had no dimming.. now with my new audiobahn A18001DQ i have some dimmage cuz its 1800x1 @ 1 ohm rms.. but hey.. my idmax needs some serious juice .

for the w3s, i think i'd go with a jbl 600.1 good clean cheap power

I have a cheap jenson 300wat amp and ill probably buy the sony explode 12 inchine. Im not that into loosing my hearing but, from what i hear I liked the Sony over all that Best Buy had with a wide range of bass not just only the deep low.

At 200rms that will be fine enough for me.

BTW Please tell me more about the Best Buy plans.

i used to have w3's running on a 250.2 RF (semi old school) that had a birth sheet saying it put out 800 watts peak. I upgraded to a 800a2 after a little bit with a birth sheet saying a little over 1000 watts.
it was alot louder and did not affect the subs
if you play a good clean amp to drive the subs it won't be a problem.

As I said before Im really not into a loud deep base anymore. Basicly im content with soft sounding music but a nice 100 dollor sony sub really is all that im looking for. The jensen has at least 200rms of power it may not be alot but it at least can make great power to be heard inside the car not outside like how all the kids have around town like i care to hear their music.
