Default D16y8 question please help???

I'm installing a D16Y8 engine into my civic but my question is all the wiring seem to be the same just unplug the old one and done but except one, the engine I have is the D16Y7 and is non V-tec so what about the V-TEC solenoid? is that one has to stay unpluged? or should I have find the wiring harness that will come out from the ECU to the engine and get it?? thank's a lot for any answer!!

Sorry, I'm a little lost. Are you asking how to wire up the VTEC solenoid once you install the d16y8?

Since you're already going to replace the entire engine, it probably wouldn't be too much more work to simply replace wiring harness. If you can't find one for cheap, you can wire everything up to your existing wiring harness. I know for obd1, you can buy a subharness from Rywire or eBay, but I haven't seen anything like that for a y7/y8 swap. They might be the same, but I'm not sure.

You'll need to wire the following things up:
- VTEC solenoid
- VTEC oil pressure sensor
- knock sensor (assuming you're going to use the P2P ECU)
