Default Steering wheel loose??

I have a question................It seems like the steering wheel of my 93 HB is loose when you place hands at 3-oclock and 9-oclock/ 12 and six and rock the wheel. (Not turning the wheel to the right or left, but towards you then away from you with right & left hands alternately.) i get about 1/2 to one inch of play.. NOTE the car is not moving or anything, it is the wheel on the steering column itself.. IS there a nut or something that may need to be tightened ie where the steering wheel bolts onto the column or something??

Thanks

remove torx screws on the sides to remove air bag and check the bolt tightness of the steering wheel.

its easy, and following the service manual is the best idea especially if you are not familiar with the system.
