Default Rotted Exhaust, 1999 Civic EX- Recommended headers and cat back?

My 1999 Ex Civic's exhaust is rotted from back to front. holes all over the place. I know I will need a new cat back type exhaust, but I was also thinking while I was under the car I might as well just replace the header too. Its a stock D16Y8 engine. I was wondering what the community's thoughts are on replacement headers and cat back. I dont want to go overboard, just something decent that will last for a good many years and give me some added horsepower. Any advice on brands, and header/cat back types would be appreciated!

Thanks all!

It is mostly a personal preference, especially on a stock motor. As long as you make sure the exhaust is made of 304 stainless, you really can't go wrong.

Thanks for your recommendation on 304 stainless. I just wanted to solicit what the general community felt would be a better then stock replacement header/catback exhaust without going the $400+ ceramic route. I don't need the exotic, but something of quality. Since I do not know much about the brands or the tech put into the exhaust, i was hoping the community would point me in the right direction. I would hate to buy something crappy from flebay then finding out that there was something in equivalent price which was better.

But just knowing 304 stainless is an excellent start. Thanks Provocateur!

im pretty sure a lot of people here will vouch for the apex world sport 2 catback.
as for the header..depending on how far u plan on taking this hobby.
a header on a D16 isnt gonna do much so u might be better off to save ur money

A coated pipe is going to be cheaper than a stainless steel one because it is just mild steel underneath the coating. Once that coating comes off, it will begin to oxidize. 304 stainless should never rust, in theory, and will last longer than you will have the car.

Apex'i doesn't make fully stainless exhausts but Greddy and Skunk2 do. Like I said earlier, stick with fully 304 stainless, an exhaust diameter around 60mm, and a sufficient muffler and you'll be happy with it.
