Default skunk2 pro series intake manifold on eg... too big

so i installed the skunk2 pro series intake manifold...... and i got it working and idleing perfectly and everything.... took a good 5 hours...

and then i took it for a drive...

theres about a 3 mm clearence from the back of the IACV and the fire wall.... and if i step on the gas any harder than a hair... it hits the fire wall and makes an anoying buzz...

skunk2 realy should do some research before they mass produce something....

i breaker bared the fire wall as much as i could, honda's metal being soo soft, but it still does it a little bit

im thinking....get a better middle motor mount to fix it... ? what you guys think?

ps... aside from that issue... its one sweet motha f*ckin upgrade... with the throttle body? thing sounds rediculously sick after 4k rpm.... and definatly feel the hp increase.

just put some doublestick tape between the two to eliminate the buzzing.

your rear mount is junk. Might wanna check it out. I'm sure the others are contributing but the rear is probly tore up pretty bad or extreamly weak. I've installed many of these & never had a problem as long as mounts are good. Upgrade to HAsport, your car will thank you.

so i know im gonna get the rear mount...

but still... it goes soo close right up to the fire wall... i just dont think they thought that through....

skunk2 has been known to copy plans of other machine shops, and just mass produce them because they have the facilities without testing them..

the guy i go to, erick Agular... of ericks racing engines... he designed the skunk2 tb and basicaly told me how he gave his tb to a rep that he works close with and they just mass produced them without testing them.... thats why there was a recall on the early ones with the throttle sticking.

I agree, HAsport mounts are the best. That and I have a GSR in my del Sol w/ the pro Series Manifold and it don't beat on my firewall, althought it only has about 1 cm of clearance.

glad to know the mounts can prevent it from shaking that much...
