Installing Sunpro H2O, Oil Guage, quick Q
I bought a set of Sunpro gauges at Pepboys, I'm all excited about knowing the actual temperature my engine is running...
My friend pointed out, "How are you going to get those NPT fittings (on the gauges) to go into your metric threaded car?"
Good question......So how?

for the temp you can use an adaptor that goes inline of your rad hose. For the oil pressure, you can either use a Oil filter sandwich, or a block adaptor. You will need about 6 in of SS line to run the sender for the oil pressure ( if electric) or longer. DONT NOT USE THE LINE THEY GIVE YOU. The water adaptor i might have one. PM and i will let you know.
I guess I should have mentioned both the H20 and Oil Press. are mechanical gauges.
I'd like to retain the Oil Pressure warning light on my dash, so I guess I need a block adapter that will let me utilize both the light and my pressure gauge.
Inline with the radiator hose? I'm not sure I've ever seen that...

if they are mechanical, you have to toenail into the oil pressure sensor on the back of the block using fittings you can get at any hardware store. The water one????? get creative, maybe cut the rad hose and fab a fitting to house the mechanical sensor and then reconect the rad hose back together. Maybe some one else has a better Idea for the mechanical water temp. Mechanicals are more dependable but maybe electrical ones are easier to install. I only have exp with the oil pressure one.
