head gasket blown? need help figuring this out

well i started it up today and there was no smoke... until i revved it up a little then there was just a little but no water leaking.... im thinking to just replace the gaskets and what not and it will probably be fine

(again)Assuming the coolant and it's level looks fine, plus the oil doesn't look like some kind of mocha-smoothie, that sounds to me like it could just be some oil getting past your valve seals.

Could also be piston rings or the oil-control ring on the piston, but valve stem seals are more common. If so, that problem isn't too expensive whether you have them replaced (head doesn't need removed) or you just try something with seal conditioner to soften up the old seals, assuming none of them are cracked and beyond repair.
