Default Want to Install both CD Player & tape. Feasible?? Civic -2002

I have 2002 civic sedan. I want to add a cd player below the existing cassette player deck. This is a after market CD player (Sony X-plod).
My question is:
1) Can I have both the Cassette player and the CD player mounted? I was told that it cannot be done. I can only have the existing cassette player OR replace it with an after market CD Player. Is it correct?
2) If it cannot be done as I am thinking to do, what is the way to do it? I would hate to return the Sony X-Plod and get any other CD player.
Any help would be appreciated ...

Well, I did talk to the audio shop guys and they said it is either / or option but not both. I am guessing that probably there is a Honda OEM CD player that would work along with the factory installed cassette deck, but I have not heard any good feedback on Honda CD players. Also, I have already purchased a Sony CD player.

Crunchfield sell add-on cd players for use with the oem unit if you're dead set on keeping the eight track. Its the cheapest option.

yeah... keeping the cassette player and the oem radio is cool because u kept it oem... but cassettes are dead technology now, like 8 track players were when cassettes came out...
