Default air bag questions

im looking to put a new steering wheel in without an air bag in my 95 civic coupe and i read the diy but how do u take the passenger side air bag out without it deploying? and will a tray from a 96-00 fit into the 92-95's i cant seem to find one for my year

For the driver side your supposed to first remove the neg. battery cable, followed by the positive. That should apply to both.

Next your supposed to install the short connector (found under steering wheel access panel) to the airbag, after disconnecting it from the cable reel.

Next you disconnect it from the under-dash fuse box.

For the passenger side, I don't know if you are to connect that same short connector to it, after disconnecting battery, or if just disconnecting it from the SRS unit (under the dash, behind the center console) is all that's required.

I'm assuming that you would just connect the short connector to the where the pass. airbag routes into the SRS unit, but can't be sure.

Might want to check a repair manual for that car to be safe.
