Default Clutch/flywheel replacement question.. In the process w pic

I saw westcoaststyle' s thread/walk thru ( https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...d.php?t=139802 )

and im half way there now. i got an F1 chromoly flywheel and street clutch for my pretty stock civic (at the moment)...

so i got my tranny off but the inside of it is covered in oil, its not at all on the current clutch or flywheel, and my d16y7 engine does have a leak that ive yet to find the origin of...

pic of inside tranny..

should i clean out the inside of the tranny with some engine cleaner? it wont cause any problems? (rust)

the leak may be coming from somewhere under the distributer. is this common and how do i fix it?
