Default Any reason to choose a 2003 civic over a 2001, or vice versa? sedan vs. coupe?

I'm looking at the civic EX model with the 5spd manual from years 2001-2005 (likely in the 01-03 range).

Besides the different gauge cluster, what differences make the 2003 any more worth it than a 2001? I'm sure there are a lot of differences, as the prices I'm finding on autotrader seem to differ quite a bit between those years.

Also, I'm undecided on the coupe versus sedan issue. I don't have kids, but I like practicality. I'm assuming pretty much everything about the coupe is the same as the sedan, except 2 less doors.

Either way, its gotta be the EX, and manual transmission is a must

Did they all have ABS? How about 4 wheel disc?

Why not get an 02-03 Si?

Built in England, they are so much nicer than the EX models overall...
Bigger motor = More torque
They are rare = higher resale value
Nicer, bigger wheels
MUCH better interior
Great sport seats
Better performance gains
IMO much nicer looking than the coupe or sedan.

99-00 Si FTW. end of story

and a 02-03 Si is not rare and does not = higher resale value.
in fact no honda really holds a resale value.
except the $7200 CR-x

Insurance is through the roof on the Si, regardless of model year (except the 07 Si sedan quoted cheaper than the old ones )

Its not all about performance this time. I've been there (WRX, Legacy GT, Miata, etc.). Now I'm looking more at saving fuel and not buying premium gas.
