please help. I am having trouble with the engine in my car. It is a 94' civic ex. For some reason the engine stutters upon acceleration. Seems to be getting worse. I thought it was a fuel problem and used treatments. what could be the problem?

 

Do you have a CEL (check engine light on)? Will it only happen hot, cold? At all rpms, only from a stop? How many miles? Last time you did a tune up? Any work done on the engine before the problem started? Is it a manual, auto?

Your problem can be caused by a lot of things. Answering some of these questions can narrow it down.

 

first step: do a tune-up. new plugs, cap, rotor, fuel & air filter.

without knowing anything else thats all i can recommend.
