Hyper-White Headlights... Legal???
Most of my friends already have the hyper white headlights, I believe they have MATRIX XENON HID HEADLIGHTS. I was thinking about just buying some off ebay and installing them, but I am wondering if these are legal? Is it only legal if you buy them from Honda?
aiight... well I live in CA so I know its illegal. but I heard that certain types of HyperWhite Lights are legal? Like some sites say DOT & SAE approved and are street legal. Anyone know if this qualifies for California?

They're not neccesarily illegal... they'll just totally give you less visibility.. those cheap blue coated bulbs try to hard to pass off as HID's and end up giving a faint blue light, until they blow up... Then there are those blue bulbs that are higher wattage that are blinding. If you want a better or whiter light, I'd suggest Silverstars, Cool Blue's, and PIAA has quality bulbs.

Since this is a Civic forum, then yes, PIAA's blue bulbs are technically illegal. Why? H4 is a motorcycle headlight bulb designation...basically a 9003 bulb.
Stick with FMVSS108-compliant bulbs such as Sylvania Cool Blue and Silverstar, GE Super Blue, Wagner LazerBlue, etc.
The blue describes the bulb, not the light color, as the color is whiter than stock.

Basically, the bulb has to be marked with DOT and 9003.
Anyways, as long as your light bulb is white and not obviously blue, you should be okay.
