95 del sol - dies when i come to a stop-
ok..I had this problem when i got the car (when i come to a stop the rpm's drop off and it dies) it an automatic 1.6 vtech sohc.. I replaced the coil... dis.cap and rotor and plug and wires and put some injector cleaner in the tank, and its still doing it.. i'm gonna try the fuel filter but I don't really think its that for some reason... and there isn't a engine light on --- maybe the ICM ???
It's a good idea to change the fuel filter anyway but I don't think that will fix the problem either.
Does it start up normal and idle fine if it's in neutral?
Try getting the engine revs up and then quickly off the throttle in neutral when it's all warmed up and see if it dies then - if so I'd assume you need to adjust the IACV as IgOtNOluCk said.
it does run fine in neutral ...and coming off the highway to the stop sign after its warm is when it dies or idles low--ive been shifting back into neutral as i come to stops -- The iacv is adjustable??? i'm gonna pull it off today and clean it up and see if that helps
:chuckles: I dunno what happened there, I think either I confused the idle screw with the idle air control valve or had a brain fart and so told you to adjust instead of clean/replace. I don't quite remember now but you're correct, just clean it and then reattach it and the hoses once it's dry.
