BLACK SMOKE!!!!!(and not from my lungs either!)
i recently gave my mother a 98 civic hx, it used to blow blue smoke (when vtec hits) until recently...now its black (running to rich) the only mod i have is an intake (circular, still using stock rubber piping just removed clunky airbox) could it be my map sensor, o2 sensor, and/or coolant temp? help would really be appreciated...

none about a month ago my mom said a light came on and under further inspection it was a check engine light she failed to tell me she add more oil (but it didnt blow a head gasket-no leakage) so i re-did her oil, filter, and gasket...ummmmmmm lets see (thinking) for the CEL i look for codes and got none (strangly enough) so i disconnected the negative terminal to see if the light would go away or come back it went away...but she does have a cracked heat sheild that must be replaced (not really but i rather keep her car as healthy as i can)...
