Default 2002 Civic Si Transmission problem? [Canadian model]

My Honda Civic (Automatic) appears to have trouble shiftong into 4th gear
When it is on the highway it revs at a high RPM and when the foot is taken off the accelerator pedal the car slows down a lot. Has anyone had similar problems with the transmission or is this a normal occurence
Thank you

this may be a stupid answer, but make sure that the overdrive button on the shifter is on. Also, i thought all civic si's were manual transmissions.

Yep.. that's the most logical answer.
I've added a footnote to the thread title, so this doesn't get moved in error.

unless canada was really that special, I don't think the civics up there have an overdrive button. thats why there's d3 and d4 on the gears.

how many miles are on the car?
whens the last time you changed the tranny fluid?
are you sure you're not driving in d3? (I'd hope not, but you never know)
