odd belt whine

Default odd belt whine

so i have an odd belt whine. Its odd because it started randomlly one day and only occurs durring startup and the 5 seconds following it then it stops and wont happen again and clues or hints anyone?

One of your belts may be loose. See if any of them look old or cracked and replace if necessary.

Check the alternator belt.

i had something similar - it was the ac belt. i used a little WD-40 on the pulleys to determine which belt it was, then tightened it up. This may not be a recommended procedure
