the porting part i dont plan on doing, my cousin knows of another shop that ported the head on his MR2 for a good price, ill probably go there. i meant the other stuff ill do myself.... all the installation and what not. now that i think about it ill probably be not swapping this motor, i just want the car to have a little more power (w/o nitrous), not just for racing, for daily driving too.

well i HONESTLY believe in a 96-00 4door.. and a d series motor the car will be very slow unless you introduce forced induction.... you could not create a reliable enough al motor single cam setup to move that car quickly.. once again im sure there are expensive exceptions... but i just mean in general

if i was to turbo my d-series..... how much boost can the stock internals take? 5-7psi ?

and does anyone know sites for D16Y7 internal parts? cam, pistons, rods, etc. i found stuff for the Y8 but nothing for the Y7, is it all interchangable between both engines ?

if you are serious.. decide how much cash you have to spend.. then start callign places... i would FIRST decide if you want to swap teh head.. i think that long term that is the BEST first step.. then call places that make stuff.. as silly as that sounds.. lol... ask them.. i see you make XXXXX for a y8... i need ti for a y7 with a y8 head.. you have any thoughts on that.. any real reputable business will have educated technichians that can help you make those decisions...

STEP one... decide on your budget..

u found a lot of sites on Y8s? can you please post them? i've been looking for some of those sites as well... but haven't found much... if you could post them, that would be helpful.

as for turbo the D series engine... i think on stock internals, it's safe to boost up to 7 psi. but i think i will just boost it up to 6psi... but haven't heard of anyone feeding back how much whp it will gain at 6psi with stock internals, and i/h/e.
