There is something seriously wrong with the car, and also the car was modified by a person who is/was an idiot.

I'm by no means calling anyone a liar but did it occur to anyone else that this might be a ruse just to remove the governor in hopes of going above 125mph or wherever the gov. is set on 6th gens?

is the engine reving all the way out?? If not that could be why your maxed at 55. My timing was off when i bought my 98 cx hatch and i had it retimed and it all of a sudden started reving all the way out and the fastest i was able to take it was 105 so this might be your problem. Just check it out..
