Bad Gas Mileage!!!! why?
i have a 96 civic 4dr. dx with no mods but an intake. i get about 24-25 mpg on my civic. I have no cel lights on, car runs great, all maintenance done. oil, oil filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor, o2 sensors, all replaced. Soooo whats goin on, my car is a daily driver and the way gas is right now i just want to see what i can do to get my mileage back up. i Know these civics get about 30+ mpg so can anybody tell me what else i can do? my civic has a 99 civic swap stock rebuilt with about 30K miles.

How do you know it's a little or a lot? Even an alignment off by 1/4 toe out creates more friction than you think. Also what tire pressures are you running?
Run any fuel injector cleaner through your car lately? Do you do jack rabbit starts, meaning do you slam on the gas and try to beat other people to the lights, or do you drive calmly? Do you carry non-essential items in your car like a huge subwoofer? Or crap and junk in the car that weighs it down?

LOL i did say i have an intake so i dont need any air filter LOL!. just a week ago i had a tire shop do all dat for me because i had a needle stuck on one of my tires so they adjusted them for me. The injector cleaner i did it about 4 months ago. no i dont race my car at red lights. the alignment is all good but i havent done it since i got the car 1 year and a half ago.

Is your car an automatic? When ur driving pay attention to when it shifts, see if u go into overdrive. If your tranny is not shifting into OD that would explain a significant decrease in mileage. If its an auto, you should count 3 shifts, 1st-2nd, 2nd-3rd, 3rd-OD

i work in a parts store and i hear this every day. even people with brand new vehicles. theres a chance that theres nothing you can do. with the way oil is these days and all the bullshit going down, i wouldnt doubt the quality of gasoline has slowly been declining over the years.
but, you could try different oil too. a friend of mine switched from pennzoil to castrol and he picked up 2 miles to the gallon highway and city in his Vue
