would bleeding the clutch line help it smooth out the pedal? instead of it being extremely loose at the top

If your pedal is extremely loose, u might still have some air in there, but once your line is bled, if you pedal is still loose, its most likely due to your pressure plate. The more clamping force your pressure plate has, the harder it will be to push in on ur pedal. So if you have a 1.5L with a small pressure plate, it will be very easy to push in.
