New Clutch
I just replaced my clutch and drove it around really quick just to make sure that everything was working alright, it seemed like it took some force to get it into gear, is that normal after replacing a clutch, also it seemed like the clutch was slipping a little, should that be happening while it is getting broken in or is something else wrong?
you clutch shouldnt be slipping at all, thats why u bought the new clutch... it should actually be very stiff, and it hasnt broken in yet, id almost wonder if ur clutch disc is tilted. I would pull it apart and check out ur install before u have 2 buy a 2nd brand new clutch When u pull it apart, make sure u used the clutch alignment tool, and that u have the disc in the right way.
Ok, because this is actually the second time I have taken it apart, after the first time I could not put the car into gear so we pulled it apart again, and once we finally got it back together the second time it still seemed somewhat difficult to get it into gear....
it is hydro, and i probably do need to clean everything, all i need to clean is the flywheel and the pressure plate side that connects to the flywheel right? Would not having cleaned them before installing them really make them slip?

anyone so heres the story:
Ok so I attempted to replace my clutch and when i put it back together it wouldnt go into gear at all so I ended up taking it apart again to find that the shift fork wasnt pressed on all the way once i finally got it back together again now i went to test it and it will go into gear if you give it a little bit of force, but now it seems that my brand new clutch that i put in is slipping. what could i have done wrong that is causing it to slip, and also when i pulled out my old clutch disc it looked almost identical to my new one in thickness and everything and several friends said that it looked almost new so is there anything else besides a bad clutch that can cause it to slip?

ok 1 thought is, ur tranny is locked up and ur clutch is slipping cuz its the weakest link between ur motor and tranny. Not likely tho, Also u may need to replace ur clutch master cylinder. That is more likely. It could not be releasing all the way and is making ur pressure plate not close. Ive seen that happen.
Is there a way to check if the clutch master cylinder is bad or if the tranny is locked up? and if I had to guess I would think it wa the master cylinder because i have had the clutch pedal drop all the way to the floor before and not come back up, also lately when my civic has been sitting in my garage i have noticed a somewhat small amount of fluid on the ground and i didnt know where it is coming from and it could be from my master cylinder.
i would replace ur clutch master cylinder. You can pick em up for like 60 bux at autozone. My friend had the same problem on his 94 civic dx. His clutch pedal dropped all the way to the floor. We figured his clutch was just really bad cuz it would slip. Replaced the master cylinder and his clutch worked just fine. The way we tested it wasnt in any books... but we disconnected the master cylinder and pulled it off then drove his car around without using the clutch. Worked just fine...
