What size spacer?

What size spacer?
My brother drives a 2000 civic ex. His friend gave him a set of 15 x 7 black racing pro n1 wheels with a +45 offset on 195 50 15 tires. But when he put the wheels on the car, the inside of the rear wheels rubbed against the lower control arm. The fronts are okay. I've heard of people grinding down the control arm a little so that the wheels don't rub and I also know that getting a spacer would help, but since I'm not really familiar with offsets I'm not sure what size spacer he would need. Does anyone know what size spacer would prevent the wheel from rubbing the control arm?
Another note: his car's dropped on eibach sportline springs with kyb agx struts.

Well in some states having a wheel spacer on the streets is illegal so becareful when it comes to inspection.
I took off about 1mm of the lower control arm with my 15x7" Kosei K1s with 45mm offset. Takes about 15 mins per side.
