Default KYB agx front struts?

I just got some KYB agx struts for my HB, and there are no stops on the strut piston rod. When I put the car down there was nothing stoping the strut rod to come up thru the pillow mount, thank god the hood was open. Are these the right struts? Should they have stops or washers on the rod? HELP. Thanks.

the stock strut has a welded ring that holds the washer and bushing assembly. this is a tapered rod with no ring.
