Default type-r tranny

I have a b16a2 engine. The tranny is just giving problems all the time. I've spent enough money on it.
I found out of this place around my house that sells jdm motors and parts. I asked for a type-r tranny and the guy is selling it for $900.00.
Is that a good sell and would it bolt on right onto my engine? Would the axles i have on right now fit perfect? Would there have to be any modifications that i would have to do?
please help. I'm just tired of spending repairing the old tranny.

its a direct bolt on. ur b16 axels will all fit. im running a 2000 integra type R tranny on my b16a3 and love every min of it. at that time considering a clutch/flywheel upgrade if applicable since the transmission will be off. just make sure the tranny your're getting is a typeR/lsd. a good way to see this is look thru the axel hole, if its hollow thru, u got lsd. good luck.

thanks. my b16a2 tranny is lsd already. i love the lsd. it kicks azzz. i've beaten so many b16a's too. lsd makes a difference. besides seeing that it is lsd on the type-r tranny. is there another way i can tell that it is a type-r? serial # or model #?
thanks again.

did you or somene else put the LSD in? none of the b16a2 motors to my knowledge come with an LSD. I think the B16b (civic type r motor) has it, and if your trans does infact have LSD, then its aftermarket, and depending what peice it is, could be worth taking out and placing in your new transmission.

i bought a jdm rhd eg6 front clip and when i transfered the engine to my hatch i noticed the tranny came with lsd. i got the front clip for $2,800.00 USD. I was about to buy a swap 99 Si for $3,500.00 but i did my research and found a huge engine seller. I'll try to post some pics. thanks again for the help. I think i am going with the type-r tranny.

type r trannies have J4D stamped on them, if it has N3E it means it has the 4.7 final drive with the gsr 4th and 5th gear. the N3E came from the jdm 98+ type r. while all the rest, including usdm and jdm type r have J4d.
