well im 16 years old and im inlove with the honda scene. all into the nice stock clean look.

ive been researdching eg hatchbacks for about ayear now because ive loved them since i was little ..

ive been searching for an untouched one( no ricer or anyone has messed with) for about 3 months now. and have only found automatic eg's or riced out, or theyre messed with how i dont like like interior and exterior is fine but things are spray painted etc.

my parents will pay for a car for me up to 14000 dollars.

if i got an eg.. it would be cheap and i could get a engine swap which i would want a b18c1 gsr. it would save my parents money but they said whatever i want is fine with them if its under 14000

today i was at carmax and came across a 1998 prelude (MANNUAALL!!!) for only 12500 . its got power everything and a sunroof. with 195 hp.
my parents said that car is fine with them and i like it alot. my sister has an 03 civic which was 14000 so they said its okay if i get it.

but ive been into my hatch for so long i dont know if i should get a prelude or keep searching for my civic hatch.

i wanted to know your opinions on this

i know civic hatches are very light but is a prelude light??

would a b18c1 civic beat a 195 hp lude?? i want a fast car but im a very safe driver and never speed and only wanna go fast on the track..i just want a quick daily driver.


do you think i should keep searching for a hatch or get a lude ?

i know its up to me but i really would like opinions to help me out with my decision

do yourself a favor and dont buy a project car for your first car. let mommy and daddy buy you a nice and reliable one now and then take your time looking for your hatch

 

well if i get a hatch its not really a project car if i just get the gsr put in... thats all imd oing to it other than suspension and body work ...my uncle owns an auto body shop so i learned alot from him..and we called up his friend who works on hondas and would swap in my gsr for 200 bucks if i have the engine.


and are u saying i should just go for the prelude?

 

b18c hatch would rape a prelude...but your parents will buy you whatever you want so why the hell would you get a civic or a prelude for that matter...at 14k you could get a way better car..must be nice.

 

i want a honda because i LOVE hondas....
and hondas have cheap insurance

i dont like any other cars than hondas


so a b18c1 hatch will really kill a prelude that has more hp?
theres 15 more hp but why does it kill it?
cuz of the weight differences?


and if i get the hatch its not like theyll give me the rest of the of the 14000

they dont have that much saved up but my sisters car was about that much and she got a 02 civic ....so they said theyd be fair and do the same for me. and they can afford the payments up to that each month . although i said i would help em as much as i could but they said i didnt need to.

and ive loved eg hatches since i was little so...ive stuck to hondas.
its just since i saw that prelude its made my decision so hard.
i had my mind set on a hatch..i see lots of stock hatches around not dropped or ne thing but no one is selling them thats why i saw the prelude and thought it might be a good thing.

hell where are you located? Ill buy an EG chassis, swap in a boosted stand alone b18c and sell it to you for 14k.....

 

in my opinion, if its a free first car n u got like 14,000, why dont you go with the rsx-s or for a lil less a 2000 si.

that hatch will murk that lude

 

First car, 16, and a large possiblility of wrecking it.
Not bringing u down or anything, Im a realist.
Buy something u will afford to lose.
Like I bought a $3.5k 1995 Honda Accord as my first car when I was 17.
I STILL have it years later

 

hatches are way cheaper on insurance than ludes.....although most hondas arent bad on insuranc.e

my first car is my hatch..and i think older cars are great for first cars...then work your way up or stay with the old ...i dont like anything much before 92 though.
