a stock k20a swap will set you back $7k+ easy. but with simple bolt on's, cams, and kpro tuning you're at 220whp+. dig into the internals even more and the power can go through the roof.
on the other hand, a fully built NA b18c5 with that same $7k dumped into it would also put out 220whp+. but it wont have near the same powerband.
it all comes down to what you want to do with the car. both have their advantages.

so either way the k20 being at 7k+ would be a far more suitable choice should i want to do it as along term investment and for the power? what if i was to start out small and got a gsr longblock? remember im just looking for ideas!!!!

if sticking with NA, a k20a can make huge numbers (240whp+) and still be streetable. a b series making anything more than 240whp is on the verge of being track only.

as you state it like that then ok lol so if i did a gsr longblock? what could do beside simple bolt ons? like if i ported and polished the head and upgraded the valve train and not upgrading the pistons or anything? what would i look at power wise being that turbo is not in the picture at any point and time until later on down the road

the engine is a package. everything has to work together. one part has to compliment the next. big cams are going to need compression to make power. you'll need a good flowing header and intake. and so on so forth.
tell me this, what is your budget and power goal? i can give you a better recommendation with this info.
