by the way. it only bangs slightly when i go to shift into 5th or reverse. it's barely even audible. i just noticed it when i was under my car and my friend was going through the gears. that would happen if i just left it like that. woudl i end up damagin anything after a while?

if you don't want to get rid of it, then cut it.

is the heat shield really that important? it's just a piece of aluminum.

i assume that its there for a reason. i might just be paranoid, but i really don't want to remove it or even cut pieces of it off. i remember people mentioning something about bending, or loosening something up. i just don't get what?
