ac not blowing cold
Today i found out my ac does not blow cold anymore. i have been using heater only for a long time so i did not notice this immediately so i have no clue when it stopped. there is no difference in air temp wether the ac button is pressed or not. btw i have a 1998 civic ex auto. all help is appreciated.
Ok hit your ac button car running and see if you ac clutch is turning on the compressor(you will also hear a click). If your compressor will not turn on you may be low on r134a.Check all your ac components for an oil build up if you find any that would be your leaking component. Also check your condenser and see if a rock has punctured it that is the main problem in the ac systems.
I have a similar problem on my '92 only it works fine sometimes and not others. I thought for a while it might be the switch on the HVAC control module(?) itself but after a little trouble shooting that doesn't seem to be the problem.
My best guess is it's the AC relay (on my car, not necessarily yours).
edit:^this is my legitimate attempt to help^
I've searched on this site and although I've found references gallore, never came across how exactly to replace it. I know it's not too hard but anyone out there replaced the AC relay on their 5th gen who could give me some advice or point me towards a walk through?
edit:^this might be considered a derailment, I hope not, wasn't my intention^

That wouldn't work sometimes and not others though, would it?
I would think it would stop completely when it went bad, like a fuse... I hope I'm wrong so I can easily and cheaply fix my A/C.
