Default Clutch Question

I was just curious as how you can tell if a clutch is burnt up in a car,i know it sounds like a dumb noob question but i was just curious.Any help would be nice.

You try to start moving and the motor seems to rev more than it should for the speed you're going-clutch slipping.
Your car seems to buck when taking off-clutch chatter but could just be contaminated with oil.

Drop the clutch see if it grabs and spins tires,or try loading it up on a steep hill also ^^^^^^^.Some you might need to adjust you clutch cable for proper feel others you will have to check clutch fluid and bleed the system for proper clutch feel.Don't just condemn your clutch right off the bat.A visual inspection is best.
