Installing a short shifter ! HELP!
you are most likely going to need two people. when you are trying to get the two bolts going verticle through the thing around the ball, the tops of them are round and flat, they spin when you try to get them out, other than that the job is really easy and should only take between 1 and 2 hours. i have a 95 civic, just make sure that you grease the ball before you put it all back together.

Yes, grease it up well. I highly suggest using lithium greas on the shaft at the bottom of the shifter and also around the center ball.
it also took me less than an hour, and the two flat bolts dont have much to hold onto and how can they be held from above when you are down below. yes you can do it with one person, but to make it alot eaiser, two people are nice. i was trying to help him, dont herrass me.

I don't know what you're talking about 'how can they be held from above when you are down below'... you take the entire rod assembly off the car so there is no longer an above and below... maybe you do it differently, but if you need to have 2 people then it must not be the easiest way..
Please, tell me if I'm wrong. I'd like to know if there is a better way, I just don't see that there is.
im not saying that my way is easier or harder. i was jsut trying to help him, and i think it is alot easier to have to people and just take out the three bolts and swap the new shifter in. i dont know how you did it. your way may be easier for all i know.
stupid question: how do you reply to a certian person like that?

You should also get a set of bushings (neuspeed, energy suspension...). You have to take them off anyway to change the shifter so you may as well replace the bushings (and it may rattle if you don't). The bushing kit is only like $8.
Hope it helps.
