sound deadening material??? [removal ?]

so if I ripped up the seats and carpet to remove sound deadening material and kept nothing but the seats, door panels, headliner and dash, how much weight would I save?

Just the sound deadening tar alone removed from my car was about 45 lbs. Everything else went right back in. Outside of more road noise and hearing every little piece of sand going through the rear wheels you would never be able to tell the material was gone.

It's an older pic but the car has not changed much on the exterior since these were taken. When the weather gets better here in the Northeast I will take more.
