I would first start by hoping for the best and check if its misfiring. That vid looks simmilar to what happened to my motor when the spark plug gromets leaked oil, fouling up the plug wires. Cheap fix! Good luck!

ok first off the thing needs a valve adjustment hella bad!

next.. the nosie that starts happening around 10sec into the video sounds like a rod flapping around! Unless that was u making the noise with something else.. but it only stays around for a few sec & then does it again twords the end of the clip.

Im thinking that if it were some internal failure, the sound would be continuous, rather than intermitent every few seconds.

depends on whats wrong. It could be a bad section of a bearing that rotates and makes noise only when it's on a verticle portion, nobody will know till he rips it apart!

Sounds to me like the A/C compresor kicks on with the fan when it makes the noise. Is it on?

I have seen a few Civics do this. The magnetic clutch on the compressor may be going bad.

some people told me its most likely the a/c compressor since the clicking/vibrating stops if i turn off the a/c. I appreciate all the feedback on this. you guys are very helpful. I'll keep you posted if thats really the case.

thanks all

Jay

+1

sounds REALLY nasty to me....i wouldnt be driving...hope your not

but typically if it is a rod/bearing it would be constant as it worsens..so it could be a rod/bearing just hasnt gotten bad enough to be constant....ive experienced this on a 00 integra gsr...very sad
