Default Compression Changes

Hey guys,
I was planning on swapping engines. I was told the h22 is so fast is because of compression. How do you change the compression of the engine??

pistons genneraly determine the compression of a motor. To raise or lower compression you swap out the pistons with higher or lower compression pistons. The h22 has more power then the rest of the honda motors more because of its its size (2.0 vs the 1.6-1.8) then because of its compression

compression can be changed by different pistons, different thickess headgasket, milling the head, different valves.

too low of compression and it'll run like a dog. too high and you risk detonation without very high octane gas. you have to find a nice medium for the intended purpose of the engine.

Is there any DIYs for piston installations or any internal changes.

Usually an engine swap is the cheapest gain for HP

unless your very mechanicly inclined i do not suggest you attempt this on your own. Let a reputable shop do it for you. If you think your capable, i think honda-tech as a couple of good write ups
