Default lightening it.

ok i was just wondering if i was to lighten my car (take out all the crap) then will it help much?
if i was to take out all the plastics and carpet and seat and spare, wouldnt it lighten only by like 50pounds?
is that even enough to make a difference?
i know that if i put carbon fiber parts on it then it will lighten also, but i dunno. i was just wondering if it would help to lighten it. right now its around 2,750 pounds, i want it at around 2,500... so if anyone has any suggestions or ideas that would be cool.
thanks ppl.

you're going to have to take out all the sound deadening material as well. and every little luxury you can live without. a/c, ps, stereo system, etc.

If you are daily driving this car, I will tell you that it is not worth stripping it to make it barely faster.

If you don't care, just start ripping out everything that isn't necessary. All creature comforts can be pulled out.

Spare and tools saves a good amount with no sacrifice other than being stuck with a flat.

i know this is rough but supposidly ever 100lbs removed, will allow you a tenth of a second faster in the 1/4. So if you take all that shit out over 2 tenths and still plan to drive this car, your just plane stupid! Turbo Charge your car or swap the engine or both. You will be much happier. Your not even gonna feel two tenths with your butt dyno.

if u do all this ull gain 1000hp and the car will weigh 1891.1928475 lbs.....
guttign a car is ment for trac kcars, either drag strip or actual track racing. driving around a civic with a stripped interior on the street is simply retarded. if ur gonna gut the car, dont half ass it and tear every single thing out that isnt needed, put a cage in it and go from there
