I know for a fact that it requires coolant lines on the stock setup...but no it is not needed. Just was letting you know if you wanted it hooked up, they would be coolant lines going to it.

After checking, I can see that one line is connected to the other part of the IACV with coolant. But the front opening seems to be a vac line.

It's a coolant line. Mine leaks. I'm removing it in the spring.
