Default need help NEWBIE...b20b with gsr tranny

hey guys i need help. im runnin a jdm b20b with a gsr tranny in my 96 civic what ecu would be good for this set up..i currently have the b20b but the rpms go crazy they idle for a long time when i high rev the car.....i was thinkn a p75

sounds like you have other issues. what do you mean they idle for a long time when you high rev the car?

I wouldnt run the b20b ECU....I would be running the b18b ecu.

Since when does the tranny have anything to do with what ECU to run?

i wasnt referring just to the tranny as you can see i also said a non vtech which i was referring to the b20b.....but "thanks for the useful info it helped alot"

Also, why would you run an ECU other than what engine you have in the car? You would run the B20 ECU. I'd go so far as to say that an LS ECU would work (P75). Additionally, Shmoo is right, the transmission has nothing to do with what ECU you run. I've heard that some ECU's are auto/manuel specific, but I've never seen that proven.

You should run the P75.

actually he shouldnt run the b20 ecu, its setup to run with a different manifold style than the one that you have to put on it to get it in an EG, and yes there is a difference between auto/manual ecu's. I will agree with you that he needs to run the P75 as he will have put the b18b intake manifold on the b20, which in the end is just a bored out b18b.
