People laugh at me...
Personally, I couldn't care less. The stereotyping is actually deserved in my area. Civics are the most riced-out rides around. I think I can do some good here, though. I'm aiming to have the best looking/best kept stock Civic in North Carolina. I'll definitely stand out. I've already turned more than a few heads that were looking for double-decker wings and stickers. It's kind of a fun role to play.

My car looks like a stock hatchback (I even have the hubcaps on
) They see my shiny muffler, laugh then try to race. Then they loose (pretty badly too) and get mad.
my car is slow... its a ex auto... i tell epeople its just a chill ride... i have no $$ to make it fast... so I modify it to make me happy.
people ask what car I drive.. and all I say is guess.... and they ususally guess right

It's no different than the jack asses in their new stangs that think they are going to tear some **** with their 15 second wonders. If you don't run faster than 14's you don't belong on a drag strip. the reason civics get no respect is because the civic has a reputation as a economy car, and not a sports car. It's hard to get over that stereotype. We know civics have potential and any true car guy knows any car can be fast no matter what it is. Hell, look at mustangs, if you say," I have a mustang GT", the average dip**** will say, "Do you race?" or , "yeah, they are fast" or some **** like that. When in reality they are truely overated pieces of ****. My brother in law just bought a brand new black GT and the very night he got it, he comes over starts talking smack about how now he has a real car. to make a long story short, we went to the track and I ran a 13.8 in my civic and he ran a consistant low to mid 15's all night long and he has an intake and exhaust. A couple of weeks later he starts in with the, "well if I had a turbo, blah, blah, blah" So we head out to the industrial area in town and I hand him a two car length beat down in my SE. Three times in a row we ran and I spanked his ass each time. Now, he just *****es about how he can't wait until he gets his supercharger. The general car public just has this notion that mustangs and Trans Ams and such are fast. Now don't get me wrong, they all have plenty of potential and are far easier to get power out of, but in OEM form they definately don't live up to the hype. I mean if a muscle car with bolt-ons can be whooped by a four door sedan with bolt-ons then there is a problem. To top it all off my brother in law was whooped by two of his cousins. One whooped him in his RSX and the other one in his 1994 Trans Am Auto with 140k on it. Our cosuin with the TA runs a 14.4 with an intake and he is handicapped with only one leg and he is missing four fingers. I'm going off topic bu my point is that in stock form or even with bolt-ons, civics are SLOW as ****. So if you want to earn respect for civics you have to go all out. ten years from now maybe civics will get the same respect as say the Z cars or the Turbo diamondstar crew.

I'd screw with a GT any day but i don't even bother with LS1's.
i get the "i cant believe you got a civic" a lot. i went from having the fastest car (nissan maxima) to the slowest car within my group of friends and its not easy. especially when the fastest car now is a jetta with a driver just as gay. but im saving my money and by spring the real car will be back on top baby..

To be honest, our civics are slow. I will be the first to admid that when i put on my exhaust, i felt badass.
After looking into dynosheets and driving my buddies SI, i came to realize that it will take alot of money to make my civic go fast.
But that is all good, it is fun to modify a car that people say can't run with eights.
All i think about is getting my my B16a2, and either Rh stage 2 turbo, or a built bottom end, high commpression, agressive cams, and Direct port Nitrous.
but once again, that is some serious money.
