Default Ebay turbo kits

Has anyone bought and installed a turbo kit from some nameless ebay store? I am researching them and they seem to go for about $800 to $1100. Do they work and are they reliable?

you'll end up spending more money replacing crap parts that fail in the end, when you could have just bought a pre-fabbed kit from a reputable company, or building your own kit.

I'd use everything from an ebay kit except the turbo itself. Those are shitty, but I haven't heard anything bad personally about the charge pipes, intercoolers, bov's, and wastegates.

ive seen the manifolds crack, the bovs and wastegates also work improperly on the ebay turbo kits (quite often). like Snoop said, you would end up spending more money (and time at that) replacing and/or fixing parts. If youre gonna do it, might as well do it right the 1st time.

I've never looked into it but there are bound to be guys putting together some good kits w/ name brand parts. just because its ebay doesn't mean its shit.

Just because it comes from ebay doesnt mean its crap. You can get Revhard cast iron manifolds for cheap. The clone bovs and wgs seem to work just fine and have a simple design. Just steer away from SSAutochrome manifolds and TurboXS/XSpower Turbos.
